Discover more about the research of international scientists and orchid species with a special story - including Ophrys apifera or bee-orchid species with a special story - including Ophrys apifera or bee-orchid. Based on watercolor paintings from scientific illustrator Esmée Winkel, sketches, photos, drawings and other material you will be given an impression of the research that goes into orchids and the relevance of scientific illustrations.

Before or after your visit to the exhibition, you can take a look at some blooming bee orchids in the bulb glasshouse of the Hortus botanicus Leiden (regular entrance fee).

Entrance to the exhibition is free.
